Trails - Turkey Run ParkEnjoy The Parklands most extensive system of trails here at Turkey Run Park.Seaton Valley Trail- A 1.0 mile soft surface, easy hike/bike trail that begins at Seaton Valley Trailhead and proceeds through the bottomlands along Floyds Fork near Mary's Island until it connects with the Louisville Loop.Bullfrog Crossing Excursion Trail - An easy and fully-accessible asphalt trail that, when combined with the Louisville Loop, creates a full circle, connecting all of the Sky Meadow amenities including Boulder Pond, Sky Dome, Paw Paw Trail and Duck Pond. This trail is less than a mile and may be used by pedestrians and cyclists- just please be courteous when passing.Paw Paw Trail - A 2.3 mile, easy hike/bike soft trail through Turkey Run Forest. Access the trail via the paved excursion trail from the Sky Meadows/Boulder Pond parking lot. Along the route you may choose to cut over onto Chinkapin Trail, or continue on to the Louisville Loop just north of the Brown-Forman Silo Center.Chinkapin Trail - A more-difficult, natural surface hike/bike trail approximately 2.2 miles in length through Turkey Run Forest.
Hike approximately 1.5 miles on Paw Paw or Hickory trails to reach Chinkapin trail, which has a backwoods feel through the upland forest.Hickory Trail - This 1.45-mile trail for hiking and biking is located in. Built by the (IMBA), Hickory Trail offers an additional easy-level trail for visitors to explore. Access Hickory near just after entering the southern end of. Use Hickory to return to your starting point, or come back to Silo Center via Paw Paw. Lengthen your hike or ride by jumping onto Chinkapin Trail.Wild Hyacinth Trail - This hike-only trail is 'more difficult' and roughly follows the contours of Turkey Run creek. You may access the trail from the parking area or the Louisville Loop near Turkey Run Creek.
The trail is approximately 1.47 miles and routes through forests, waterfalls, bottomlands, and meadows. Look for old stone wall remnants in the creek and for wild hyacinth in bloom in the spring.Boone Bottoms Trail - This easy, soft surface trail is 1.2 miles through the Boone bottomlands. Park at the and head out in either direction, as the trail loops back to the trail head. See if you can spot any of the 30,000+ trees planted in the bottomland area, part of a reforestation project. Visit the amazing gravel bar along Floyds Fork we like to call 'Mussel Shoals'. There is easy access from this trail for fishing along Floyds Fork.Louisville Loop - Approximately 3.7 miles of the paved, multi-recreational Louisville Loop runs through Turkey Run Park, beginning at the Seaton Valley Trailhead and ending where Turkey Run Park ends at Stout Road. Head north from Seaton Valley Trailhead to access The Strand (a 4.7 mile scenic stretch connecting Pope Lick and Turkey Run Parks).The is open seasonally, typically from June through November.
